In Dubai, the ski season never ends.
While Dubai is not the obvious location for a skiing holiday, it is one of the best in the world. This is not least of all because there are hundreds of hotels to suit all requirements and styles, you can sunbathe as much as you like, indulge yourself in the air-conditioned malls, and enjoy world-class dining outdoors … and then ski for a few hours to get out of the heat. While outside temperatures reach above 30 (85F), you can be chilling on the slopes at below freezing.
Ski Dubai offers you a mountain-themed skiing experience connected to the Mall of the Emirates. In places, you can even see shoppers while you ski, which is an incredible way to spend an afternoon. Open morning until night, the 22,500 square meter location has the atmosphere of a misty day.
Aside from the novelty, Ski Dubai offers everything you would expect from a top-class ski resort. It’s as cold as you would expect inside. The snow is real. They make it from recycled water, every night.
There are various runs for all abilities, including one that is 400 meters long. If you want your kids to enjoy the slopes, children between 3 – 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Youngsters can also enjoy a 3000 square meter snow park play area, where you’ll find sleds, tobogans, and much more. They even have penguins.
The snow school is for people of all ages and abilities. Learn privately or take part in a group session with friendly, trained staff. It’s up to you. They’ll have all the equipment you need. Nobody expects you to take your skis and gloves to Dubai, but you can if you wish. You can also snowboard as well as ski.
If a 400-meter desert ski slope doesn’t impress you, they’re building a new one, which will be 1.2km! Until then, know that skiing in Dubai makes Dubai ideal for fun in and out of the sun, all year round.
